①The above duty & tax rate is for reference only, for the final duty & tax calculation of products, please refer to the "China Customs import goods dutable value table" for the full rules & requirements.

②The value limitation for packages imported under the Personal goods import mode is 1,000 CNY. (Packages from Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan are limited to 800 CNY), if the package content is a single item & is not divisible, then the value can exceed 1,000 CNY and can still be processed.

General
International Express Prohibited Goods

1. Valuables securities that are difficult to estimate the values and valuables that are easy to lose, include: bill of landing, verification sheet, passport, quota license, license, private documents, bill of exchange, invoice, domestic or foreign currency, gold and silver ornamentals, imitation jewellery, phone.

2. Inflammable and explosive, corrosive, toxic, strong acid or alkaline, and radioactivity hazardous articles. For example: match, detonator, gunpowder, firecracker, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, alcohol (include liquid and solid), vitriol, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, organic solvent, pesticide and other chemical product that list on the ‘hazardous chemicals practical guide’ published by Chemical Industry press.

3. Deadly poison, anaesthetic and psychotropic substance, for example: arsenic, opium, morphine, cocaine, heroin, marijuana.

4. Prohibited by country law, for example: cultural relics, arms, ammunition, imitation arms.

5. Newspapers and periodicals, pictures, propaganda materials, audio and video products, laser discs (VCD, DVD, LD), computer disks and CD-ROMs containing reactionary, obscene or indecent material.

6. Regulated, or hindered public health goods, for example skeletons (including skeleton remains that have been burnt), animal hides that has not had tanning treatment, animal bones that haven’t been medically treated.

7. Animals, plants and their specimen.

8. White powder for whose ingredients are difficult to identify.

9. Personal letters.

Airfreight Prohibited Goods

1. Articles that threaten the safety of flight aviation meaning articles or substances that, in air transport, may significantly impair human health, safety or property. Mainly in the following categories:

1.1. Explosive materials: fireworks and crackers, detonating fuse.

1.2. Gas: Compressed gas, dry ice, fire extinguishers, gas storage barrels (not having a discharge device, unable to re-inflate), lifesaving apparatus (self-inflate).

1.3. Flammable liquid: oil-based paint, gasoline, alcohol, engine oil, camphorated oil, engine starting fluid, turpentine, thinner, glue, perfume.

1.4. Combustible solids: products having a spontaneous combustion nature, the release of flammable gases in water substances such as activated carbon, titanium powder, dried coconut, castor products, rubber debris, safety matches (box rubbed or wipe) Of white phosphorus, dry yellow phosphorus, magnesium powder;

1.5. Oxidizing agents and organic peroxides such as potassium permanganate;

1.6. Toxic and infectious items: such as pesticides, lithium batteries, tear gas and so on;

1.7. Radioactive material;

1.8. Corrosion products: such as batteries, alkaline battery fluid.

1.9. Magnet, magnets and other products with strong magnetic properties without degaussing protective packaging.

2. All kinds of drugs

3. Other prohibited goods, such as: powder (no matter what colour), liquid (no matter what kind of packaging), goods with packaging displaying ‘dangerous goods’ signs or warning labels, not having national audio-visual publishing society certified audio-visual products (including CD, VCD) ; knives, durian, incorporating gas machines, involving "weapons" and "gun" concept of any goods (including toys) and so on.

China Customs Prohibited Goods for Import and Export

1. Arms, imitation arms, ammunition and explosives of all kinds.

2. Counterfeit currencies and counterfeit valuable securities.

3. Printed matters, films, photographs, gramophone records, cinematographic films, loaded recording tapes, video-tapes, compact discs (audio and video), storage media for computers and other articles which are detrimental to the political, economic, cultural and moral interests of China.

4. Deadly poison of all kinds.

5. Opium, morphine, heroin, marijuana, and other addictive narcotics and psychotropic substances.

6. Animals, plants and products thereof infected with or carrying pathogenic germs, insects, pests and other harmful organisms.

7. Unsanitary foodstuff, medicines and other articles coming from epidemic stricken areas and those harmful to man and livestock or those capable of spreading diseases.

China Inspection and Quarantine Prohibited Goods

1. Animal and animal products

1.1. Live animals (exclude dogs and cats), including all the Mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects and other invertebrates, animal genetic substance.

1.2. Meat & meat products (cooked or raw), including organs; aquatic animal products.

1.3. Milk & milk products sourced from animals, including unprocessed milk, fresh milk, yoghurt, cream, butter, cheese & other not yet heat-processed milk products.

1.4. Eggs & egg products, including fresh eggs, preserved eggs, salted eggs, liquefied eggs, egg shell, mayonnaise & other not yet heat-processed egg products, etc.

1.5. Birds nest (tinned bird’s nest allowed).

1.6. Fat products, hides, furs, hooves, bone or horn products & related products.

1.7. Feed sourced from animal products (Whey Powder, blood powder etc.), Chinese medicine sourced from animal parts, fertilizer sourced from animal’s parts.

2. Plant and plant products

2.1. Fresh fruits & vegetables.

2.2. Tobacco (not including cut tobacco).

2.3. Seeds (sprouts), Sapling & other plant materials possessing breeding/ reproducing capacity.

2.4. Organic cultivation media.

3. Other quarantine articles

3.1. Pathogenic micro-organisms of animals and plants like culture, virus seed, injurious insect and other harmful biology, cells, organ, blood and other biological materials.

3.2. Animals body, animals’ specimen, animal waste.

3.3. Soil.

3.4. Transgenic biological material.

3.5. Other animals, plants and plants products prohibited by country.

4. Note

4.1. Animal, plant and products made from these, as well as other quarantine-able products brought in through carry-on or postal import methods, shall be subject to the examination and approval of the relevant administrative departments of the State and should have the quarantine certificates issued by the official bodies of the exporting countries or regions.

4.2. Dogs, cats and other pets with an animal quarantine certificate and a vaccination certificate issued by an official body of the exporting country or region are limited to one per person.
